Glycolic Peels are now considered to be the most advanced form of facial available. The Alpha Hydroxy Acid ‘Glycolic Peel’ is derived from sugar cane and has the smallest molecular structure of the AHA family. It can therefore penetrate into the skin much more effectively than other Alpha Hydroxy Acids. It is not absorbed in to the body and so will not cause any systemic side effects like chemicals in other peels.
A gentle glycolic acid peel can be performed with varying percentages of glycolic acid. At Laser Skin Solutions we use a 40% glycolic acid enabling clients to achieve the skin rejuvenation they desire with minimal side effects. Glycolic acid loosens the ‘glue-like’ bonding or cellular cement that is characteristic of many skin conditions such as ageing, acne, skin discolouration and coarse texture. After just a few weeks your skin will look brighter, clearer and blemish free. Dry skin becomes hydrated and smooth.
Glycolic acid helps reduce cell ‘build-up’ by resurfacing the skin to reveal dramatically softer, smoother texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkes and reducing scarring. Clients find Glycolic facials a relaxing experience and experience only mild tingling whilst the acid peel is applied. Mild redness is usually completely gone by the time the hydrating face pack has been removed. It is considered to be a ‘lunchtime’ treatment and clients are able to return to work straight afterwards.
A course of 6 Jan Marini peels is recommended for optimum results over a period of 6-12 weeks. However individual skin analysis will be given during your free consultation which will determine the frequency of Glycolic Peels required.
