FAQS
Laser treatment is considered the gold standard treatment by dermatologists for the removal of unwanted tattooed eyebrows and is more effective and quicker than using the saline removal method. Tattooed eyebrow removal with a Q-switch laser leaves little or no trace of the original tattoo or semi-permanent make-up.

After suffering a stroke it was extremely difficult for me to shave so I decided to try laser hair removal… the results were fantastic, I only wish I had done it years ago, thank you Laser Skin Solutions.

CONSULTATION PROCEDURE
Excess hair can be unsightly, difficult or inconvenient to remove, and grows back quickly. Shaving, waxing and depilatory creams are all temporary methods that must be repeated on a regular basis.

faqs
Removal of SPMU or tattooed eyebrows works in the same way as standard laser tattoo removal. A Q-Switched laser beam is used to shatter the ink into small enough particles so that the body removes them and excretes them via the lymphatic system.
HOW IS THE TREATMENT CARRIED OUT?
The skin will be cleaned and then the laser light is passed over the semi-permanent ink tattoo releasing quick pulses of light. An audible ‘clicking’ noise is often heard as the ink particles shatter. After and during treatment, cold air is used for your comfort and to minimise side effects like swelling.
IS IT PAINFUL?
Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a hot pin prick or the flick of an elastic band. Whilst moderately uncomfortable, most people tolerate treatment well. The treatment takes mere seconds to complete. Cold air is used to minimise discomfort.
HOW DOES THE SKIN LOOK AFTER TREATMENT?
An instant whitening of the skin is seen after treatment, but this generally fades quickly. The area is likely to feel tender for a few hours and can be red and swollen for up to 48 hours. Some eyebrow ink responds immediately, and we have been able to completely remove semi-permanent eyebrows at the first treatment, whilst others take time to fade.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Mild swelling, redness and tender skin which lasts a few hours. Some people get no swelling at all. Whilst possible but unwanted side effects can occur with standard tattoo removal, these are very rare with SPMU removal.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY?
This depends on several factors, including the density, colour of inks and the age of the SPMU. Some semi-permanent make up can be removed in a single session whilst others can take several treatments. Treatment sessions are spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart.
HOW LONG DOES EACH SESSION TAKE?
Your appointment will last 30 minutes, but the hands-on laser time takes around 1 minute or so. We allow plenty of time to answer your questions, complete paperwork, take additional photos if necessary and to allow extra time for cooling.
CONSULTATION PROCEDURE
Prior to treatment, you must first undergo a consultation where details about your medical history are obtained to check you are suitable for treatment. Before proceeding you will be asked to give informed consent and a test patch will be carried out.
