The alpha hydroxy acid ‘glycoic peel’ is derived from sugar cane and has the smallest molecular structure of the AHA family. It can therefore penetrate into the skin much more effectivly than other alpha hydroxy acids. It is not absorbed into the body and so will not cause any systemic side effects like chemicals in other peels. A gentle facial Bournemouth can be performed with varying percentages of glycolic acid. At Laser Skin Solutions we use a 40% glycolic acid enabling clients to achieve the skin rejuvenation they desire with minimal side effects. Glycolic acid loosens the ‘glue-like’ bonding or cellular cement that is characteristic of many skin conditions such as ageing, acne, skin discolouration and coarse texture. After just a few weeks your skin will look brighter, clearer and blemish free. Dry skin becomes hydrated and smooth.

The glycolic acid helps reduce the cell build up by resurfacing the skin to reveal dramatically softer, smoother texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and reducing scarring. Clients find glycolic facials a relaxing experience and expereince only mild tingling whilst the acid peel is applied. Mild redness is usually completly gone by the time the hydrating face pack has been removed. It is considered to be a ‘lunchtime’ treatment and clients are able to return to work stright after. We recommend a course of 6 Jan Marini peels for optimum results over a period of 6-12 weeks. However individual skin ayalysis will be given during your free consultancy which will determine the frequency of glycolic peels required.
