Onychomycosis, also known as tinea unguium, is an infection of the nails caused by a fungus and is commonly reffered to as fungal nail infection. Symptons can cause white or yellow nail discolouration, thickening of the nail, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. There have been many clinical studies which suggest that the long-pulsed laser treatment can be used to treat fungal nail infections.
