Onychomycosis, also known as tinea unguium, is an infection of the nails caused by a fungus and is commonly referred to as fungal nail infection. Fungal nail is the most common nail disorder and accounts for around half of all nail conditions. Whilst fungal nail can affect both the fingernails and toenails, the fungus more commonly affects the feet. Symptoms often cause white or yellow nail discolouration, thickening of the nail, and separation of the nail from the nail bed. Whilst fungal nail can affect fingernails, it is more common for toenails to be affected.  There have been a number of clinical studies that suggest the long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser treatment can be used to treat fungal nail infections.

Glycolic peels are now considered to be the most advanced form of facial available. The alpha-hydroxy acid peel is derived from sugar cane and has the smallest molecular structure of the AHA family. It can therefore penetrate into the skin much more effectively than other alpha hydroxy acids. It is not absorbed into the body and so will not cause any systemic side effects like chemicals in other peels. An acid peel can perform with varying percentages of acid within the peel. We use a 40% acid enabling clients to achieve the skin rejuvenation they desire and with minimal side effect as well. The peel will loosen the glue-like bonding or cellular cement that is characteristic of many skin conditions such as ageing, acne, skin discolouration and coarse texture. After just a few weeks your skin will look brighter, clearer and blemish-free, and dry skin becomes hydrated and smooth. A course of 6 Jan Marini peels is recommended for optimum results over a period of 6-12 weeks. However individual skin analysis will be given during your free consultation which will determine the frequency of glycolic peels required.
