Thread Veins are formed by an increase in the size of small blood vessels beneath the surface of the skin. These can be referred to as telangiectasia or spider naevi, the tiny red, blue or purple veins can appear anywhere on the body but you will most commonly find them on the face and legs. The treatment for this is by using heat pulses which are applied in short bursts which close down the thread veins without perforating them or damaging the tissue that surrounds it. After the treatment has taken place the vessels will quickly clear and be re-absorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

This is light therapy and it selectively destroys the abnormal vessels that cause the effect, this then allows thicker walled micro vessels to be laid down.
